人工耳蜗 (CI) 极大地改变了重度至极重度感音神经性听力损失患者的治疗和预后。 随着最近电声刺激 (EAS) 的出现,低频声放大与高频耳蜗区域电刺激相结合,有望通过改善噪声中的语音和音乐等困难的听力情况,使部分残余听力的患者受益欣赏。 不幸的是,与植入手术相关的创伤会导致炎症、机械和血管损伤,以及剩余感觉毛细胞 (HC) 和神经元的损失。 因此,超过 44% 的 EAS 患者在 CI 手术后丧失残余听力,并且大多数患者的残余听力随着时间的推移恶化超过 30 dB。 CI 手术后残余听力的丧失一直是 CI/EAS 扩展应用的主要障碍。

纳入标准:
该研究的潜在参与者是被诊断患有重度至极重度听力损失并计划在迈阿密大学接受人工耳蜗植入的患者。 人工耳蜗植入手术、手术前和术后护理以及植入物的激活和编程是参与者护理标准的一部分。 如果满足纳入标准(年龄 18 岁及以上、男性和女性人数相等、严重感音神经性听力损失(对于安全性研究 n=6)和来自术前 ABR(对于功效研究 n=6)的残余听力(参见下面的标准) =48),来自所有 3 个制造商和讲英语或西班牙语的患者的相同数量的 CI 设备将由研究人员接触,并被要求参与研究。
