参加者は人工内耳手術中に軽度の治療用低体温療法を受けます。 研究者は、治療を受けている人の結果と対照群(治療を受けていない人)の結果を比較します。

人工内耳 (CI) は、重度から重度の感音難聴患者の治療と予後を劇的に変えました。 最近の電気音響刺激 (EAS) の出現により、低周波での音響増幅と高周波の蝸牛領域の電気刺激を組み合わせることで、騒音の中でのスピーチや音楽などの聞き取りにくい状況を改善することで、たとえ部分的に残存聴力をもつ患者にも利益をもたらすことが期待されています。感謝。 残念ながら、インプラント手術に関連した外傷により、炎症、機械的および血管の損傷、および残りの感覚有毛細胞 (HC) とニューロンの喪失が生じます。 その結果、EAS 患者の 44% 以上が CI 手術後に残留聴力を失い、大多数の患者では時間の経過とともに残留聴力が 30 dB 以上悪化します。 この CI 手術後の残留聴力の喪失が、CI/EAS の拡張適用に対する主な障壁となっています。

この研究の潜在的な参加者は、重度から重度の難聴と診断され、マイアミ大学で人工内耳を受ける予定の患者です。 人工内耳手術、術前・術後のケア、インプラントの作動とプログラミングは、参加者の標準治療の一部です。 対象基準が満たされる場合(年齢 18 歳以上、男女同数、重度の感音性難聴(安全性研究 n=6 の場合)および術前 ABR による残留聴力(下記の基準を参照)(有効性研究 n の場合) =48)、3 つのメーカーすべてから同数の CI デバイスが提供され、英語またはスペイン語を話す患者には研究担当者がアプローチし、研究への参加を求められます。
除外基準:
18歳未満の被験者。 機能的聴覚要件を満たしていない被験者。
