Inklusionskriterier:

  • Diagnosticeret med systemisk lupus erythematosus (SLE) mindst 24 uger før screeningsbesøget
  • Mød European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR)/American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2019 klassificeringskriterier for SLE
  • En af følgende: positive antinukleære antistoffer (ANA) ≥ 1:80 ved screening ELLER positiv anti-dsDNA ELLER positiv anti Smith (anti Sm) som bestemt af det centrale laboratorium ved screening

  • Total systemisk lupus erythematosus sygdomsaktivitetsindeks-2K (SLEDAI-2K) score ≥ 6 point og klinisk SLEDAI 2K score ≥ 4 point med ledpåvirkning og/eller udslæt

    •Lupus hovedpine, alopeci, organisk hjernesyndrom og slimhindesår skal registreres på SLEDAI 2K, hvis det er indiceret, men tæller ikke med i de point, der kræves til screening ved indrejse

  • Mindst én SLE-baggrundsbehandling (immunsuppressiv og/eller antimalariamiddel) er påkrævet i ≥ 12 uger før screeningsbesøget, skal være i en stabil dosis i ≥ 8 uger før screeningsbesøget og skal forblive stabil indtil randomisering og under hele undersøgelsesdeltagelsen
  • Oral kortikosteroid (OCS; prednison eller tilsvarende) baggrundsbehandling er tilladt, men ikke påkrævet. For deltagere, der tager OCS, skal dosis være stabil i ≥ 2 uger før screeningsbesøget, må ikke overstige 30 mg/dag ved screening og skal forblive stabil indtil uge 4 besøg. Deltagerne kan være på en OCS samt et antimalariamiddel og/eller et immunsuppressivt middel

Ekskluderingskriterier:

  • Diagnose af lægemiddelinduceret SLE frem for idiopatisk SLE
  • Andre autoimmune sygdomme (f.eks. multipel sklerose, psoriasis, inflammatorisk tarmsygdom osv.) er udelukket. Deltagere med type I autoimmun diabetes mellitus, autoimmun skjoldbruskkirtelsygdom, cøliaki eller sekundær Sjögrens syndrom er ikke udelukket
  • SLE-overlapssyndromer, herunder, men ikke begrænset til, leddegigt, sklerodermi og blandet bindevævssygdom er udelukket
  • Aktive eller ustabile lupus neuropsykiatriske manifestationer, herunder, men ikke begrænset til, enhver tilstand defineret af BILAG A-kriterier, med undtagelse af deltagere med mononeuritis multiplex og polyneuropati
  • Aktiv, svær klasse III og IV, lupus nefritis, der kræver eller kan kræve behandling med cytotoksiske midler eller højdosis CS
