Criterios de inclusión:

  • Tiene un diagnóstico documentado actual de HI según los criterios de la Clasificación Internacional de los Trastornos del Sueño, Tercera Edición (ICSD-3) o Revisión de Texto (ICSD-3-TR) con polisomnograma (PSG) confirmatorio con prueba de latencia múltiple del sueño (MSLT); y si es aplicable, un informe de actigrafía con registro de sueño en archivo que condujo al diagnóstico y fue completado en los últimos 10 años.
  • Tiene síntomas de HI de moderados a muy graves.
  • Si toma un medicamento o suplemento crónico concomitante permitido, incluidos antidepresivos no prohibidos, debe estar en una dosis estable durante al menos 3 meses antes del Cribado y aceptar continuar con esa dosis estable durante el Período de Tratamiento a Doble Ciego del estudio. No se permite ningún tratamiento que pueda afectar la somnolencia diurna (incluidos, entre otros, estimulantes, modafinilo y armodafinilo) utilizado según sea necesario.
  • Para los participantes que reciben tratamiento para la apnea obstructiva del sueño (AOS) u otras condiciones de hipoventilación, deben ser cumplidores con su dispositivo médico o aparato oral según lo determinado por el Investigador. Los participantes deben mantener el cumplimiento del tratamiento de AOS durante todo el estudio.

Criterios de exclusión:

  • Tiene hipersomnia debido a otro trastorno médico.
  • Tiene antecedentes de uso de pitolisant dentro de 5 vidas medias antes del Cribado.
  • Tiene un diagnóstico primario de enfermedad psiquiátrica que no está bien controlada.
  • Tiene antecedentes de insuficiencia hepática moderada o grave.
  • Tiene una tasa de filtración glomerular estimada (TFGe) corregida por superficie corporal (SC) <60 mL/min.
  • Tiene antecedentes conocidos de síndrome de QT largo o cualquier antecedente significativo de anomalía grave del electrocardiograma (ECG).
