Sono stati documentati i pazienti con artrite reumatoide che hanno iniziato il trattamento con adalimumab in un normale contesto clinico secondo l'etichetta del prodotto.
Il periodo di osservazione di follow-up è stato di 2 anni e si è concentrato sulle informazioni sulla sicurezza e sul mantenimento dell'efficacia durante un normale contesto clinico.
Il follow-up con i partecipanti è avvenuto tramite visite ambulatoriali regolari a intervalli determinati dalla pratica clinica di routine o come raccomandato dalle linee guida nazionali.

Campione comunitario: pazienti con artrite reumatoide residenti in Germania.
Le normative tedesche stabiliscono che tutti i pazienti sono idonei per gli studi non interventistici; non ci sono esclusioni.
I pazienti adulti (≥ 18 anni di età) con AR che si stavano preparando a iniziare la terapia con adalimumab secondo l'etichetta del prodotto erano idonei per l'arruolamento nello studio.
I criteri di ammissibilità riportati di seguito riflettono l'etichetta approvata come indicato nel Riassunto delle caratteristiche del prodotto (SPC) tedesco per Humira.
Descrizione
Criterio di inclusione:
- Artrite reumatoide attiva da moderata a grave negli adulti con risposta insufficiente ai farmaci antireumatici modificanti la malattia, incluso il metotrexato
- Artrite reumatoide attiva da moderata a grave negli adulti che non sono stati trattati in precedenza con metotrexato. In caso di incompatibilità con il metotrexato, Humira può essere utilizzato in monoterapia
Criteri di esclusione:
- Ipersensibilità al farmaco o ad uno degli eccipienti
- Tubercolosi attiva o altre infezioni gravi (ad es. sepsi e infezioni opportunistiche)
- Insufficienza cardiaca da moderata a grave

I partecipanti con artrite reumatoide prescritti adalimumab nella pratica clinica di routine sono stati osservati dalla prima dose fino a 24 mesi.

Se manca il valore ESR, è possibile sostituire il valore della proteina C reattiva (CRP).
I punteggi sul DAS28 vanno da 0 a 10; punteggi più alti indicano una maggiore attività della malattia.
