健康な子供、健康な家族の影響: 変化をもたらす親! (HCHF) は、拡大食栄養教育プログラムに登録した低所得の親が、子どもの健康的な食事や積極的な遊び行動に影響を与える効果的な子育て実践をどのように行っているかについて、介入を遅らせた対照群と比較して調査する予定です。

健康な子供、健康な家族: 変化をもたらす親! (HCHF) カリキュラムは、子供たちの不健康な体重増加を防ぐのに最も役立ちそうな行動に焦点を当てた、親と介護者向けのコーネル大学カリキュラムです。
これらの行動には、甘い飲み物の代わりに水や牛乳を飲む、より多くの野菜や果物を食べる、積極的に遊ぶ、高脂肪や高糖分の食べ物を減らす、画面を見る時間を制限する、適切な分量を摂取するなどが含まれます。
8 セッションのカリキュラムでは、学習者中心の対話アプローチ、実践的なアクティビティ、ロールプレイが採用されています。
この研究には、ランダム化対照設計を使用したニューヨーク市のヘッドスタートおよび保育プログラムに参加する3~5歳の幼児を持つ300人の参加者が含まれる。
期間 1 (9 週間) では、グループの半数が HCHF 教育を受け (即時教育、IE)、半数が対照として教育を受けません (遅延教育、DE)。
期間 2 (9 週間) では、DE は教育を受けます。 IE は教育を受けず、期間 2 と期間 3 にわたって長期的に追跡されます。
期間 3 (16 週間) では、どちらのグループも教育を受けず、両方のグループが長期的に追跡されます。
データは、研究者によって開発されたHCHFチェックリストや、子育ての摂食習慣、親の食行動、子供の食行動、肥満予防行動に関する親の自己効力感を評価する補完的な尺度など、検証された尺度を使用して各時点で収集されます。
HCHF 前後の変化は対照群よりも大きく、行動の変化は教育後も保持されると仮説が立てられています。

チェックリストは、親/保護者の子育てや食事や身体活動に関する個人的な実践、さらに対象となる子供の食事や身体活動の実践を評価する 16 項目からなる手段です。
このチェックリストでは、保護者に、練習の頻度 (1 日/週/月ごと) を 5 段階のリッカート型スケールで報告するよう求めています。

9 つの項目にはリッカート型の回答があり、8 つはまったくないから常に (スコア 1 ~ 4)、1 つは悪いから優れている (スコア 1 ~ 5) であり、すべてのケースで高いスコアが最も望ましいです。
2 つの項目に対する回答は「いいえ」または「はい」で、それぞれ 1 または 5 のスコアが付けられます。
2 つの項目は 1 日に消費されるサービング数を要求し、提供された値が割り当てられます。
