  • 以前に治療を受けた、または未治療の患者で、スクリーニング訪問以前のいずれかの時点で発症した研究対象眼における糖尿病網膜症（DR）に関連する黄斑浮腫の診断が文書化されていること。
  • スクリーニング訪問時およびベースライン（1日目）に、研究対象眼における最矯正視力（BCVA）の早期治療糖尿病網膜症研究（ETDRS）文字スコアが35文字（スネレン換算20/200）から78文字（スネレン換算20/32）であること。
  • 以前に治療を受けた参加者：過去12か月間に少なくとも1回の抗VEGF注射を受けており、DMEに対する最新の抗VEGF治療がスクリーニング訪問の12週間以内に行われていないこと。

除外基準：

  • 他眼におけるETDRSチャートを使用したBCVAが30文字未満（スネレン換算20/250）であること。
