Beschrijving
Inclusiecriteria:
- De klinische diagnose van een beroerte
- hemiparese na een beroerte
- maximaal zes maanden na een beroerte
- stabiliteit van het ziektebeeld op het moment van inrollen
- minimale beweeglijkheid van de bovenarm (>2) beweging tegen de zwaartekracht in
- rompcontrole en het vermogen om gedurende ten minste 120 minuten in zithouding te blijven
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Hemiplegie van andere etiologie (neurodegeneratief, neoplastisch)
- Aanwezigheid van articulaire ankylosen, spasmen en/of ernstige spierspasticiteit met volledig bewegingsverlies in een van de drie belangrijkste gewrichten
- Instabiliteit van het bot van de bovenste ledematen (niet-geconsolideerde fracturen)
- Aanwezigheid van cognitieve stoornissen (MMSE<=21) en/of psychiatrische ziekte
- Gelijktijdige ziekte die het revalidatieprogramma zou kunnen voorkomen (ademhalingsfalen, hartfalen, osteomyelitis, tromboflebitis en andere klinische aandoeningen die tegen revalidatiebehandeling zijn)
- Zweren die een contra-indicatie kunnen vormen voor het gebruik van ARMEO Spring
- Ashworth > 3 (voor elk van de drie gewrichten van de bovenste ledematen)

Experimenteel: Armeo Lente
Alle patiënten van de experimentele groep werden behandeld volgens een vastgesteld protocol voor ARMEO Spring. In de eerste sessie werd het apparaat aangepast voor de armen van de patiënt. De fysiotherapeut controleerde de functionele ruimte van de beweging van de bovenste ledematen en de juiste positie van het werkstation. Elke trainingssessie bestond uit twee delen van 30 minuten per sessie met "Armeo Spring" en 30 minuten per sessie met conventionele behandeling 5 dagen per week, gedurende 6 weken. |

Actieve vergelijker: Controlegroep
De conventionele behandeling, onder leiding van een fysiotherapeut, bestaat uit passieve en actieve geassisteerde mobilisatie van de bovenste ledematen, traditionele training gebaseerd op het Bobath-concept (neuromusculaire facilitatie, houdingscontrole en proprioceptieoefeningen, verticalisatie en looptraining). Elke trainingssessie bestond uit 60 minuten met conventionele behandeling 5 dagen per week, gedurende 6 weken in een controlegroep. De conventionele sessie in de experimentele groep duurde 30 minuten met dezelfde technieken en methodes. |
