Een prospectieve, gerandomiseerde, gecontroleerde studie ter beoordeling van stimulatie van de nervus vagus bij CoViD-19-ademhalingssymptomen (SAVIOR)
Het doel van deze studie is om de werkzaamheid van het Gammacore-apparaat te beoordelen, waardoor de behoefte aan mechanische beademing wordt verminderd bij patiënten met de diagnose Covid-19

Deelname Criteria

Inclusiecriteria:
- Is positief getest of verdacht/vermoedelijk positief voor CoViD-19
- Patiënten met hoesten, kortademigheid of respiratoire problemen (RR>24/min, verhoogde ademhaling).
- O2-verzadiging minder dan of gelijk aan 96% op kamerlucht of sensatie
- Stemt ermee in om het gammaCore®-Sapphire-apparaat te gebruiken zoals bedoeld en om alle vereisten van het onderzoek te volgen, inclusief het vastleggen van vereiste onderzoeksgegevens
- Patiënt kan ondertekende en getuige geïnformeerde toestemming geven
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Op zuurstof voor thuis/therapie (d.w.z. voor COPD-patiënten) bij baseline voorafgaand aan de ontwikkeling van CoViD-19
- Is al ingeschreven in een klinische studie met een immunotherapeutisch regime voor CoViD-19
- Reeds gammaCore voor andere medische aandoeningen
- Een voorgeschiedenis van aneurysma, intracraniale bloeding, hersentumoren of aanzienlijk hoofdtrauma
- Bekende of vermoede ernstige atherosclerotische hart- en vaatziekten, ernstige halsslagaderziekte (bijv. bruuts of voorgeschiedenis van voorbijgaande ischemische aanval of cerebrovasculair accident), congestief hartfalen, bekende ernstige coronaire hartziekte of recent myocardinfarct
- Ongecontroleerde hoge bloeddruk (>140/90)
- Huidige implantatie van een elektrisch apparaat en/of neurostimulator, inclusief maar niet beperkt tot een pacemaker of defibrillator, vagale neurostimulator, diepe hersenstimulator, spinale stimulator, botgroeistimulator of cochleair implantaat
- Huidige implantatie van metalen hardware van de cervicale wervelkolom of een metalen implantaat in de buurt van de gammaCore-stimulatieplaats
- Behoort tot een kwetsbare bevolkingsgroep of heeft een zodanige aandoening dat zijn of haar vermogen om geïnformeerde toestemming te geven, te voldoen aan de vervolgvereisten of zelfbeoordelingen te geven, in het gedrang komt (bijv. dakloos, ontwikkelingsgehandicapt en gevangene)
- Gecompromitteerde toegang tot perifere ader voor bloed)
