快速或直观的逻辑发现对双重过程理论和我们对人类理性的看法具有深远的理论意义。 然而,这种新发现的快速逻辑推理的性质尚不清楚。 一个限制是它的神经基础还没有被探索过。 该项目的主要目标是解决功能磁共振成像 (fMRI) 研究中的这一缺点。 在这项研究中,成年参与者将在扫描仪中解决经典推理问题(即球棒问题的变体)。 一半的试验将是传统的“慢速”试验,参与者有足够的时间进行审议(即 20 秒)。 另一半试验将是“快速”试验,在这种试验中,人们没有足够的时间进行深思熟虑(即 4 秒的截止日期),需要依靠直觉处理。
fMRI 研究的所有参与者都是 18-45 岁之间的健康成年人。 除了在快速和慢速试验中对比正确反应者的大脑激活,我们还将对比正确和错误反应的快速和慢速激活。 这将使我们能够识别与正确和不正确的快速和慢速逻辑反应相关的大脑区域,并达到我们的研究目标。
