Descripción detallada

Este ensayo clínico cruzado de grupos de dos períodos comparará el tiempo desde el nacimiento hasta que esté médicamente listo para el alta entre los bebés con síndrome de abstinencia neonatal de opioides (NOWS) que tienen ≥ 36 semanas de gestación, en riesgo de tratamiento farmacológico y tratados por NOWS con ya sea un enfoque de dosificación basado en los síntomas o un enfoque de reducción gradual de los opioides.

Cada sitio de estudio (es decir, grupo) se asignará al azar en una proporción de asignación de 1:1 a una de dos secuencias:

Criterios de inclusión:

  1. El bebé es mayor o igual a 36 semanas de gestación.
  2. El bebé tuvo exposición prenatal a opioides identificada por al menos uno de los siguientes:

    • Antecedentes de uso materno de opioides durante el embarazo;
    • Prueba de toxicología materna positiva para opioides durante el segundo o tercer trimestre del embarazo; y/o

  3. El bebé está siendo evaluado y manejado para NOWS en un sitio de estudio elegible.

Durante este enfoque de atención, todos los bebés inscritos con NOWS en el sitio del estudio serán tratados con el enfoque de dosificación basado en síntomas si alcanzan el umbral de abstinencia para el tratamiento farmacológico. Los participantes pueden recibir hasta 3 dosis del opioide preferido del sitio del estudio durante un período de 24 horas para tratar los signos de abstinencia una vez que se alcanza el umbral de intervención farmacológica. Descripción del plan IPD

Los datos recopilados para este estudio se analizarán y almacenarán en DCC, RTI International.
