Achtergrond: Recente studies hebben aangetoond dat er in zowel ontwikkelde als ontwikkelingslanden nog steeds een aanzienlijk aantal zwangere vrouwen is met een jodiumtekort. Ons algemene doel is het monitoren van de jodiumstatus van zwangere vrouwen in China en het onderzoeken van de correlatie tussen de jodiumconcentratie in de urine van de moeder (UIC) en het lichamelijke ontwikkelingsniveau van de pasgeborene.
Opzet: prospectieve cohortstudie
Methoden: In augustus - december 2015 werden 250 deelnemers (28-32 weken zwangerschap) geselecteerd om deel te nemen aan het onderzoek. De onderzoekers verzamelen de spot-urinemonsters (n=750) eens in de twee weken.
Omgeving: Xinhua-ziekenhuis, aangesloten bij de Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
Deelnemers: 150 normale zwangere vrouwen en 100 zwangere vrouwen met zwangerschapsdiabetes (28-32 weken zwangerschap) en hun pasgeborenen werden geselecteerd om deel te nemen aan het onderzoek.
