Hintergrund: Jüngste Studien haben ergeben, dass es sowohl in Industrie- als auch in Entwicklungsländern immer noch eine beträchtliche Anzahl schwangerer Frauen mit Jodmangel gibt. Unser übergeordnetes Ziel besteht darin, den Jodstatus schwangerer Frauen in China zu überwachen und den Zusammenhang zwischen der Jodkonzentration im Urin der Mutter (UIC) und dem körperlichen Entwicklungsstand des Neugeborenen zu untersuchen.
Design: prospektive Kohortenstudie
Methoden: Von August bis Dezember 2015 wurden 250 Teilnehmer (28–32 Schwangerschaftswochen) ausgewählt, um an der Studie teilzunehmen. Die Forscher sammeln die Punkturinproben (n=750) alle zwei Wochen.
Umgebung: Xinhua-Krankenhaus, angeschlossen an die Medizinische Fakultät der Jiaotong-Universität Shanghai.
Teilnehmer: 150 normale schwangere Frauen und 100 schwangere Frauen mit Schwangerschaftsdiabetes (28.–32. Schwangerschaftswoche) und ihre Neugeborenen wurden für die Teilnahme an der Studie ausgewählt.

- 22-35 Jahre,
- 28-32 Schwangerschaftswochen,
Ausschlusskriterien:
- eine bekannte Vorgeschichte von Schilddrüsenerkrankungen im nichtschwangeren Zustand und in früheren Jahren.
