Inklusjonskriterier:

  • Personer som nylig er diagnostisert med symptomatisk myelomatose (MM) og som:

    • har ikke mottatt noen tidligere systemisk antimyelombehandling OG
    • har målbar sykdom OG
    • er ikke kandidater for høydosebehandling pluss stamcelletransplantasjon (SCT) på grunn av alder (≥ 65 år) eller sameksisterende forhold. Å nekte å gjennomgå høydosebehandling med SCT er IKKE tilstrekkelig for å gå inn på CA204006 for en person < 65 år gammel. Det må foreligge en komorbiditet som hindrer SCT for et forsøksperson < 65 år

Ekskluderingskriterier:

  • Personer med ikke-sekretorisk eller oligo-sekretorisk eller fri lettkjedemyelom
  • Ulmende MM, definert som asymptomatisk MM med fravær av lytiske beinlesjoner
  • Monoklonal gammopati av ubestemt betydning (MGUS)
  • Aktiv plasmacelleleukemi
  • Kjent Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)-infeksjon eller aktiv hepatitt A, B eller C

Tidsramme: Fra randomisering til dato for første dokumenterte tumorprogresjon eller død på grunn av en hvilken som helst årsak (opptil 8 år)

PFS er definert som tiden fra randomisering til datoen for den første dokumenterte tumorprogresjonen (som bestemt av den uavhengige vurderingskomiteen (IRC)) eller død på grunn av en hvilken som helst årsak.

IRC gjennomførte en blindet, uavhengig gjennomgang av tumorvurderingene basert på kriteriene for European Group for Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant (EBMT).

Sensureringsregler brukt:

  • Deltakere som fikk påfølgende systemisk antimyelombehandling før dokumentert progresjon, ble sensurert på datoen for siste adekvate tumorvurdering før ny behandling.
  • Deltakere som hadde en hendelse (progresjon eller død) > 10 uker etter sin siste tumorvurdering ble sensurert ved sin siste tilstrekkelige tumorvurdering før hendelsen.
  • Deltakere uten progresjon eller død (og som ikke mottok påfølgende behandling før progresjon) ble sensurert ved sin siste tilstrekkelige tumorvurdering.
  • Deltakere uten noen tumorvurderinger etter baseline ble sensurert på randomiseringsdatoen

BPI-SF numerisk vurderingsskala går fra 0 (Ingen smerte) til 10 (Smerte så ille som du kan forestille deg).
