Inkluderingskriterier inkluderer:

  • Mannlige og kvinnelige forsøkspersoner ≥ 18 år med moderate til alvorlige, kroniske korsryggsmerter (som varer minst flere timer daglig) som deres dominerende smertetilstand i minst 3 måneder før screeningsperioden;
  • Korsryggsmertene må være relatert til ikke-maligne og ikke-nevropatiske tilstander og kan være med eller uten stråling;
  • Forsøkspersonene må ha en selvrapportert historie med opioidindusert obstipasjon (OIC).

Ekskluderingskriterier inkluderer:

  • Personer med revmatoid artritt eller annen inflammatorisk leddgikt;
  • Personer med nevropatiske tilstander som har vært smertefulle eller krevd behandling i løpet av de siste 3 månedene;
  • Personer med bevis på betydelige strukturelle abnormiteter i mage-tarmkanalen eller andre signifikante tilstander som påvirker GI-motiliteten;
  • Personer med kronisk forstoppelse som ikke er relatert til opioidbruk;
  • Forsøkspersoner som hadde kirurgiske prosedyrer rettet mot kilden til kroniske korsryggsmerter innen 6 måneder etter screeningbesøket eller planlagt i løpet av studien;
  • Personer med en historie med malignitet i løpet av de siste 2 årene, med unntak av basalcellekarsinom som har blitt behandlet med hell.
