Critère d'intégration:
Le couple doit :
- attester des pratiques sexuelles sans risque
- connaître le statut sérologique de son partenaire
- être informé des risques de cette procédure et des alternatives, y compris l'insémination avec donneur
- avoir la capacité de fournir un consentement éclairé
- été référé ou auto-référé au Dr Schust pour le traitement de l'infertilité
La femme doit :
- être âgé de 18 à 38 ans
- avoir un cycle menstruel normal avant le cycle IUI
- être négatif pour le VIH, la gonorrhée, la chlamydia, la syphilis, l'hépatite B et l'hépatite C
- avoir une évaluation standard de l'infertilité et être candidate à l'insémination intra-utérine
Le mâle doit :
- avoir au moins 18 ans
- être séropositif
- être sous les soins d'un spécialiste des maladies infectieuses
- la maladie doit être sous contrôle sans preuve de syndrome d'immunodéficience acquise (SIDA), avec une charge virale < 50 000 copies/mL et un nombre de CD4 > 250 cellules/mL pour la période de 6 mois précédente
- avoir une qualité de sperme suffisante pour l'insémination intra-utérine
Si le couple n'obtient pas de grossesse après l'IIU, il peut continuer l'étude pendant 5 cycles de traitement supplémentaires. L'homme doit continuer à recevoir des soins pour son VIH et la maladie doit continuer à être sous contrôle. Avant chaque cycle d'insémination, le couple doit chacun signer une déclaration attestant qu'il/elle suit des pratiques sexuelles sûres et subir des tests répétés pour les infections sexuellement transmissibles.
