Descrição
Critério de inclusão:
O casal deve:
- atestam práticas sexuais seguras
- conhecer o status de HIV de seu parceiro
- ser informado sobre os riscos deste procedimento e alternativas, incluindo inseminação de doador
- têm a capacidade de fornecer consentimento informado
- foi encaminhado ou autorreferido ao Dr. Schust para tratamento de infertilidade
Fêmea deve:
- ter 18-38 anos de idade
- ter um ciclo menstrual normal antes do ciclo IUI
- ser negativo para HIV, gonorréia, clamídia, sífilis, hepatite B e hepatite C
- ter uma avaliação padrão de infertilidade e ser candidato à inseminação intrauterina
O macho deve:
- ter pelo menos 18 anos de idade
- ser HIV soropositivo
- estar sob os cuidados de um especialista em doenças infecciosas
- a doença deve estar sob controle sem evidências de síndrome da imunodeficiência adquirida (AIDS), com carga viral <50.000 cópias/mL e contagem de CD4 > 250 células/mL nos últimos 6 meses
- ter qualidade de sêmen adequada para inseminação intrauterina
Se o casal não conseguir engravidar após a IUI, eles podem continuar no estudo por 5 ciclos subsequentes de tratamento adicional. O homem deve continuar recebendo cuidados para o HIV e a doença deve continuar sob controle. Antes de cada ciclo de inseminação, o casal deve assinar uma declaração de atestado de que está seguindo práticas sexuais seguras e repetir o teste para infecções sexualmente transmissíveis.
