Spoedeisende Hulp Diagnostisch Hulpmiddel (ED).
ED Disability Diagnostic Tool: een haalbaarheidsstudie over gezondheidsinformatietechnologie
Doel 1: Het ontwikkelen en valideren van een Rasch Disability Diagnostic Tool (RDDT) van een Spoedeisende Hulp (ED).
Hypothese:
- Rasch-modellering zal een instrument opleveren met betere meeteigenschappen, waaronder een grotere betrouwbaarheid en validiteit in vergelijking met de momenteel beschikbare ED-meting van invaliditeit (MOD).
Doel 2: Een gerandomiseerde gecontroleerde studie uitvoeren om het nut van de ED-RDDT te evalueren om heropnames te verminderen bij Medicare-ontvangers die een stedelijke afdeling spoedeisende hulp bezoeken voor niet-traumatische ziekte
Hypothesen:
- Vergeleken met de standaard screeningstool, zal de ED RDDT binnen 60 dagen na ontslag het hergebruik van het ziekenhuis (SEH-bezoeken, ziekenhuisopnames of overlijden) verminderen.
- De ED RDDT zal de kosten voor Medicare, ziekenhuizen en patiënten verlagen.

Beschrijving
Inclusiecriteria:
- Patiënten die zich presenteren op de SEH voor volwassenen in het Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH)
- 65 jaar of ouder
- Medicare-ontvangers
- Gemeenschapsbewoners.
Uitsluitingscriteria:
Patiënten en hun voogden worden om de volgende redenen uitgesloten:
- Niet Engels sprekend
- lijdt aan een aandoening die een interview verhindert, d.w.z. communicatiestoornis
- kan geen twee contactnummers opgeven voor follow-up
- presenteren met een acute psychose of suïcidaal zijn.
