Het "virtuele" Multicenter Spontane Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD)-register (SCAD)
Het primaire doel van dit project is het beschrijven van de klinische en fysiologische kenmerken van spontane coronaire arteriedissecties (SCAD) om het bewustzijn, het begrip, de behandeling en de preventie van een potentieel fatale cardiovasculaire gebeurtenis te vergroten.
Deze studie zal een retrospectieve en prospectieve beoordeling zijn van het medische verloop en de huidige gezondheid van mannen en vrouwen met SCAD.

Spontane coronaire arteriedissectie (SCAD) is een relatief zeldzame en slecht begrepen aandoening waarvan is gemeld dat deze meer vrouwen treft dan mannen. De kransslagaders bestaan uit drie lagen en dissectie vindt plaats wanneer twee van deze lagen scheiden, waardoor bloed in de ruimte tussen de lagen kan stromen. Naarmate het bloed zich ophoopt, kan dit de normale bloedstroom in het hart belemmeren, wat kan leiden tot pijn op de borst, een hartaanval en zelfs een plotselinge dood.
De medische gemeenschap heeft nog veel te leren over de behandeling en preventie van deze mogelijk fatale cardiovasculaire gebeurtenis. Mayo Clinic voert twee onderzoeken naar SCAD uit. Deze studie bestaat uit het bouwen van een database/register van patiënten met SCAD (ongeacht of ze al dan niet patiënt zijn geweest in de Mayo Clinic) om patronen van SCAD-incidentie, oorzaken en associaties te identificeren die als leidraad kunnen dienen voor toekomstig onderzoek. Met toestemming van de deelnemer zal het personeel van Mayo Clinic een kopie van het originele coronaire angiogram aanvragen wanneer SCAD werd gediagnosticeerd om de diagnose te bevestigen en te bepalen of u in aanmerking komt. Indien in aanmerking komend, zullen studiecoördinatoren contact opnemen met de deelnemer om meer informatie over de studies te verstrekken en om een ondertekend geïnformeerd toestemmingsdocument te vragen.

Inclusiecriteria:
- Mannen en vrouwen die geïnformeerde toestemming kunnen geven
- Diagnose van een of meer episodes van spontane coronaire arteriedissectie (SCAD)
- SCAD bij vrouwen die zwanger zijn of binnen 12 maanden na de bevalling op het moment van SCAD
- SCAD bij personen die zichzelf identificeren als lid van een raciale of etnische groep die momenteel ondervertegenwoordigd is in het register. Dit omvat iedereen die zich identificeert als: Zwart / Afro-Amerikaans, Aziatisch, Amerikaans-Indisch of Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian of Other Pacific Islander, en elk ras met Spaanse etniciteit
- SCAD bij een man
- SCAD bij personen jonger dan 30 jaar
- SCAD in de afgelopen 2 weken (acuut)
- SCAD-patiënt die zich inschrijft voor een andere Mayo Clinic SCAD-onderzoeksstudie
- SCAD bij personen die een familielid hebben dat een SCAD-gebeurtenis heeft gehad
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Gebrek aan angiografische bevestiging van SCAD
- Iatrogene dissectie of een alternatieve diagnose
