TITEL:
Effect van profylactische protheseplaatsing met versus zonder omega-3 ter hoogte van de navelstrengtrocart op postoperatieve wondinfectie en hernia na laparoscopische cholecystectomie bij patiënten met risicofactoren.
DOEL: Om te evalueren of de plaatsing van een synthetische prothese met omega-3 in zijn samenstelling op het niveau van de navelstrengtrocart na laparoscopische cholecystectomie versus de plaatsing van een synthetische navelstrengprothese zonder omega-3 in zijn samenstelling, de snelheid van postoperatieve wondinfectie vermindert (SSI) en hernia op de trocartplaats (TSH) bij patiënten met risicofactoren voor infectie en hernia.

Inclusiecriteria:
De geïncludeerde patiënten waren tussen de 18 en 90 jaar oud, ondergingen een electieve laparoscopische cholecystectomie voor symptomatische cholelithiasis en hadden een van de volgende risicofactoren die het optreden van SSI of TSIH verhogen:
- Obesitas: met een body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg/m2.
- Diabetes Mellitus (insulineafhankelijk of die orale antidiabetica gebruiken),
- Leeftijd > 65 jaar en
- COPD behandeld met inhalatoren.
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Niet voldoen aan de opnamecriteria.
- Conversie naar laparotomie tijdens de chirurgische ingreep
- Niet-acceptatie van deelname aan het onderzoek door de patiënt
- Verlies om op te volgen.
