Deelname Criteria

Onderzoekers zoeken naar mensen die aan een bepaalde beschrijving voldoen, de zogenaamde geschiktheidscriteria. Enkele voorbeelden van deze criteria zijn iemands algemene gezondheidstoestand of eerdere behandelingen.

Inclusiecriteria:

  • In staat om ondertekende geïnformeerde toestemming te geven voorafgaand aan de uitvoering van studiespecifieke procedures.
  • In staat en bereid om te voldoen aan alle onderzoeksbeoordelingen en zich te houden aan het protocol van activiteiten.
  • Volgens de onderzoeker is er een geschiedenis van alcoholgebruik die verenigbaar is met ALD of Met ALD.
  • Een vrouwelijke deelnemer komt in aanmerking voor deelname nadat zij aan aanvullende, vooraf gedefinieerde criteria heeft voldaan.
  • Deelnemers moeten voldoen aan vooraf gedefinieerde vereisten voor stabiel gebruik van gelijktijdige medicatie op basis van onderzoekscriteria.

Uitsluitingscriteria:

  • Voldoet aan elke definitie van orgaansysteemfalen zoals gedefinieerd door het North American Consortium for Study of End-stage Liver Disease (NACSELD)
  • Overschrijding van vooraf gedefinieerde biochemische parameters voor alanineaminotransferase (ALT), aspartaataminotransferase (AST), alkalische fosfatase (ALP), bloedplaatjes, internationaal genormaliseerde ratio (INR), albumine, geschatte glomerulaire filtratiesnelheid (eGFR), urine-albumine-creatinine-ratio ( UACR) of geglycosyleerde hemoglobine (HbA1c). Andere primaire oorzaken van leverziekte op basis van studiecriteria.
  • Huidige of aanhoudende maligniteit (behalve basaalcelcarcinoom of baarmoedercarcinoom-in-situ) bij screening. Deelnemers die bij screening worden beoordeeld op mogelijke maligniteit, komen niet in aanmerking.
  • Eerdere levertransplantatie of huidige vermelding voor levertransplantatie tijdens de screeningperiode.
  • Chronisch of acuut, inclusief gedeeltelijke, bekende poortadertrombose.
  • Voorafgaande plaatsing van een transjugulaire intrahepatische portosystemische shunt (TIPSS).
  • Elke acute cardiovasculaire gebeurtenis, waaronder een myocardinfarct, instabiele angina pectoris, symptomatisch hartfalen of cerebrovasculair accident in de 6 maanden voorafgaand aan de screening.
  • Slecht gecontroleerde hypertensie
  • Klinisch vermoeden van rabdomyolyse tijdens de screeningsperiode
  • Klinisch vermoeden van een bloedingsepisode tijdens de screeningsperiode gerelateerd aan portale hypertensie en/of een laag fibrinogeengehalte in het bloed.
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) >35 kg/m2 bij screening
