Inklusjonskriterier:

  • Dokumentert diagnose av Crohns sykdom (CD) i minst 3 måneder før screening, inkludert distribusjon av ileal-, colon- eller ileo-kolonsykdom
  • Må ha hatt utilstrekkelig respons, tap av respons eller intoleranse overfor 1 eller flere av standardbehandlingene
  • Må ha aktiv moderat til alvorlig CD
  • Menn og kvinner må godta å følge spesifikke prevensjonsmetoder, hvis det er aktuelt

Ekskluderingskriterier:

  • Alvorlig eller fulminant kolitt som sannsynligvis vil kreve kirurgi eller sykehusinnleggelse

Prosent av deltakerne oppnår klinisk remisjon ved uke 12. Klinisk remisjon er definert som å oppnå en Crohns sykdomsaktivitetsindeks (CDAI)-score under 150. CDAI er et verktøy som hjelper leger å måle hvor alvorlig noens Crohns sykdom er. Den bruker spørsmål om symptomer opplevd over en uke for å beregne en poengsum. Poengsummene varierer fra 0 til 600 og er klassifisert i forskjellige kategorier. Poeng fra 0 til 149 antyder at sykdommen kan være i remisjon. Poeng fra 150 til 220 indikerer mild aktivitet. Patient Reported Outcomes 2 (PRO2) er en måte for pasienter å rapportere hvordan de har det. Den fokuserer på to ting: hvor ofte de har løs eller flytende avføring, og hvor mye magesmerter de har. De holder styr på disse tingene hver dag i en uke. Avføringsfrekvens er vurdert på en skala fra 0 til 3, hvor 0 er det normale antall avføringer per dag til 3 som er >/=5 avføring mer enn normalt per dag. Smertene er vurdert på en skala fra 0 til 3, hvor 0 er ingen smerte og 3 er sterke smerter. Poengsummene for disse to tingene legges sammen for å få en totalscore fra 0-6.
