골관절염(OA)은 고관절과 무릎 관절에 가장 자주 영향을 미칩니다. 통증, 뻣뻣함 또는 부기의 첫 번째 징후와 증상은 30대와 40대에서 흔하지 않으며 10%는 60세까지 증상이 있는 무릎 OA를 보고합니다. OA를 가진 사람들이 자신의 상태를 더 잘 관리할 수 있도록 교육과 운동이 필수적입니다. 운동은 통증을 줄이고 이동성을 개선하며 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있습니다. 하지만 관절에 무리한 스트레스를 주지 않도록 올바른 운동을 올바른 방법으로 하는 것이 중요합니다.
이 연구의 목적은 덴마크의 Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark(GLA:D)라는 기존의 증거 기반 프로그램을 평가하는 것입니다. 이 프로그램은 캐나다 상황에 맞게 번역 및 조정되었으며 이제 효과적인지 이해하기 위해 캐나다 치료 환경에서 구현될 것입니다. 이 프로그램이 캐나다에서 테스트되는 것은 이번이 처음입니다.
어떤 사람들은 OA를 위한 자가 관리 프로그램에 접근할 수 있지만 이러한 프로그램은 종종 일반적인 운동 안내 및 교육만 제공합니다. - 골관절염 이외의 관절염
- 이전 또는 예약된 전체 관절 교체
- 지난 6개월간 급성 무릎 부상
- 지침을 따르지 못하거나 동의를 제공하지 못함
- 운동을 방해하는 건강 상태

모든 참가자는 교육 및 신경근 운동 프로그램인 GLA:D Canada를 받게 됩니다.

교육: 2개의 세션에서 OA 주제를 다룹니다(예: 진단, 원인, 위험인자, 증상, 치료). 교육은 또한 통증을 조절 및 개선하고 프로그램 후 운동 준수를 장려하기 위해 운동의 가치에 대한 믿음을 강화하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 운동: 12회 세션(매주 2회, 각각 약 1시간)은 좋은 신경근 기능이 입증될 때 운동의 개별 진행과 함께 치료사가 감독합니다. 운동은 두 다리를 사용하여 수행되며 감각 운동 제어, 기능적 안정성 및 근력에 중점을 둡니다. 운동에는 10분 주기 워밍업과 4개 스테이션 서킷이 포함됩니다(즉, 10~15회 반복으로 2~3세트로 수행되는 3단계 난이도의 스테이션당 2가지 운동).
