- Individual patiënten: Geeft een enkele patiënt, met een ernstige ziekte of aandoening die niet kan deelnemen aan een klinische proef, toegang tot een geneesmiddel of biologisch product dat niet is goedgekeurd door de FDA. Deze categorie omvat ook toegang in een noodsituatie.
- Bevolking van gemiddelde grootte: Geeft meer dan één patiënt (maar over het algemeen minder patiënten dan via een Behandeling IND/Protocol) toegang tot een geneesmiddel of biologisch product dat niet is goedgekeurd door de FDA. Dit type uitgebreide toegang wordt gebruikt wanneer meerdere patiënten met dezelfde ziekte of aandoening toegang zoeken tot een specifiek medicijn of biologisch product dat niet is goedgekeurd door de FDA.
- Behandeling IND/Protocol strong>: Geeft een grote, wijdverbreide bevolking toegang tot een medicijn of biologisch product dat niet is goedgekeurd door de FDA. Dit type uitgebreide toegang kan alleen worden verleend als het product al wordt ontwikkeld voor marketing voor hetzelfde gebruik als het gebruik van uitgebreide toegang.

Beschrijving
Inclusiecriteria:
- Man of vrouw met door het laboratorium bevestigde (op basis van de lokale zorgstandaard) EBOV-infectie of met recente hoog-risico blootstelling aan EBOV zoals bepaald door een behandelend arts of aangewezen persoon.
- In staat om een identiteitsbewijs te overleggen tot tevredenheid van het klinische team
- In staat en bereid om het proces van geïnformeerde toestemming persoonlijk te voltooien, of als de patiënt niet in staat is om dit te doen, dan wordt geïnformeerde toestemming ingevuld door een wettelijk bevoegde vertegenwoordiger in overeenstemming met de lokale wet- en regelgeving.
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Elke medische aandoening die, naar de mening van de behandelend arts, de patiënt een onredelijk verhoogd risico zou geven door deelname aan dit behandelprotocol.
