Een fase 3, gerandomiseerde, dubbelblinde, placebogecontroleerde, multicenter studie om de veiligheid en werkzaamheid van Dutogliptin/PHX1149T te evalueren bij proefpersonen met diabetes mellitus type 2 op achtergrondmedicatie van metformine

Het doel van deze studie is om de werkzaamheid van dutogliptine gedurende 26 weken aan te tonen (zoals blijkt uit placebogecorrigeerde veranderingen in HbA1c ten opzichte van de uitgangswaarde), om de veiligheid en verdraagbaarheid van dutogliptine aan te tonen, en om veranderingen in nuchtere plasmaglucose gedurende 26 weken aan te tonen.

Beschrijving

Inclusiecriteria:

  • Diabetes mellitus type 2, gediagnosticeerd ten minste 4 maanden voorafgaand aan de screening (bezoek 1)
  • Leeftijd 18 tot en met 85 jaar.
  • Mannelijke en niet-zwangere, niet-lacterende (en niet van plan zwanger te worden tijdens het onderzoek) vrouwelijke proefpersonen met een BMI van 20 tot en met 48 kg/m2
  • Huidige behandeling van diabetes mellitus type 2 met een stabiele dosis metformine van ≥ 2000 mg (of de hoogst getolereerde dosis) gebruikt in overeenstemming met de productetikettering gedurende ten minste 6 weken voorafgaand aan de screening (Bezoek 1)
  • HbA1c 7,0% - 10,0%, inclusief; en nuchter plasma-C-peptide hoger dan 0,26 nmol/l (> 0,8 ng/ml; > 281 pmol/l) bij screening (bezoek 1)
