Achtergrond: Spanje is een van de Europese landen die het zwaarst zijn getroffen door de SARS-CoV-2-pandemie, met een sterftecijfer van 2,2%. Geconfronteerd met het grote aantal patiënten dat intensieve zorg nodig had, nam het aantal bedden in een tijdsbestek van 11 maanden aanzienlijk toe om op de situatie te reageren. Er is nog steeds geen medicamenteuze behandeling of specifieke prognostische factoren voor COVID-19 die een juiste behandeling mogelijk maken.
Doelstelling: Het bestuderen van de prognostische factoren van ernst als gevolg van COVID-19 bij gehospitaliseerde patiënten in Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, en hun vergelijking met de prognostische factoren die in het literatuuronderzoek zijn geïdentificeerd.
Methoden: In een eerste fase zullen de gepubliceerde studies worden beoordeeld om de bestaande prognostische factoren te identificeren via verschillende platforms (MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane). Vervolgens zal een retrospectieve cohortstudie worden uitgevoerd om de kenmerken van de patiënten te bepalen en de prognostische factoren van de ernst te identificeren. Patiënten ouder dan 18 jaar, gediagnosticeerd met COVID-19 en opgenomen in het ziekenhuis tussen 1 maart 2020 en 28 februari 2021 zullen worden opgenomen. Eerst wordt een beschrijvende analyse van het cohort uitgevoerd, gevolgd door een analyse van de mogelijke prognostische factoren door middel van bivariate tests en multivariate analyses. Het optreden van opname op de intensive care, sterfte en ziekenhuisopname > 30 dagen wordt berekend met logistische regressie (p < 0,05, a = 0,05, 95% betrouwbaarheidsinterval). Ten slotte zullen de prognostische factoren die in het literatuuronderzoek zijn geïdentificeerd, worden vergeleken met die in het cohort.

Inclusiecriteria:
- Gelijk aan of ouder dan 18 jaar
- In het ziekenhuis opgenomen tussen 1 maart 2020 en 28 februari 2021.
- Wees gediagnosticeerd met de ziekte van COVID-19
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Minderjarige patiënten
- > 16u verblijf op de Spoedeisende Hulp
