Kryteria przyjęcia:

  • Spełnia kryteria łagodnej do umiarkowanej choroby Alzheimera (AD) z wynikiem Mini-Mental State Examination od 16 do 26 podczas badania przesiewowego
  • Wynik zmodyfikowanej skali niedokrwienia Hachinskiego mniejszy lub równy 4
  • Wynik w Geriatrycznej Skali Depresji mniejszy lub równy 6
  • Rezonans magnetyczny (MRI) lub tomografia komputerowa (CT) w ciągu ostatnich 2 lat bez wyników niezgodnych z rozpoznaniem AZS
  • W przypadku równoczesnego leczenia AZS musi przyjmować lek przez co najmniej 4 miesiące w stabilnej dawce przez co najmniej 2 miesiące przed randomizacją
