Autonomisk nervesystemaktivitet, aldring og søvnapnø/hypopnø i en fremtidig kohorte af forsøgspersoner i alderen 67 år
De regulatoriske virkninger af det autonome nervesystem (ANS) vedrører næsten alle organer, som permanent leverer information tilbage til dette globale biologiske årvågenhedssystem, der kontrollerer allostase. Pulsudsving er meget afhængige af ANS-kontrol, hvilket gør hjertet til en af de bedste indikatorer for ANS-aktivitet.
Lavt ANS aktivitetsniveau er forbundet med alvorlige hjerte- og cerebrale hændelser såvel som dødsfald af enhver årsag i den generelle befolkning. Det er endda forbundet med søvnapnø/hypopnø.

Inklusionskriterier:
- informeret samtykke underskrevet
- at deltage i PROOF-undersøgelsen
Ekskluderingskriterier:
- tidligere myokardieinfarkt
- tidligere slagtilfælde
- ildstedssvigt
- atrieflimren
- insulinbehandlet diabetes mellitus
- pacemaker
- sygdom, der begrænser forventet levetid til < 5 år
- kontraindikation for hjerne-MR
- bor på institution
- respirationssvigt med oxygenterapi
- søvnrelaterede vejrtrækningsforstyrrelser kendt og behandlet

Denne kohorte er den samme som PROOF-undersøgelsen (NCT00759304).
Forsøgspersoner blev rekrutteret blandt indbyggerne i byen Saint-Etienne, Frankrig, og var kvalificerede, hvis de var 65 år på inklusionsdatoen i PROOF-undersøgelsen

Samtidig 24-timers ambulant elektrokardiogram og polygrafiske optagelser udført i hjemmet i løbet af en nat.
