Karakterisering af inklusionskropsmyopati forbundet med Pagets knoglesygdom og frontotemporal demens (IBMPFD)
Karakterisering af familiær myopati og Pagets knoglesygdom
Efterforskerne forsker i familier med arvelig inklusionskropsmyopati (IBM) og/eller Paget knoglesygdom (PDB) og/eller demens (FTD), som også kaldes IBMPFD. IBMPFD er forårsaget af mutationer i VCP-genet. Vores hovedmål er at forstå, hvordan ændringer i VCP-genet forårsager muskel-, knogle- og kognitive problemer forbundet med sygdommen.
Efterforskerne indsamler biologiske prøver såsom blod- og urinprøver, familie- og sygehistorier, spørgeskemadata fra patienter med en personlig eller familiehistorie med VCP-associeret sygdom. Deltagerne behøver ikke at have alle ovenstående symptomer for at kvalificere sig. En udvalgt gruppe af deltagere kan blive inviteret til at rejse til University of California, Irvine for et to-dages program med lokale procedurer såsom en MR-scanning og knoglescanning.
Prøver er kodet for at bevare fortroligheden. Det er ikke nødvendigt at rejse, undtagen for familier, der er inviteret til yderligere test.

Inklusionskriterier:
- Inklusionskriterier omfatter alle personer med en kombination af medicinske problemer, herunder muskel- og knoglesygdom og deres familiemedlemmer. Fordi historisk VCP-relateret muskelsygdom er blevet fejlagtigt diagnosticeret med følgende diagnoser, vil de derfor, hvis disse patienter også har en personlig eller familiehistorie med knoglesygdom, blive betragtet som kvalificerede til undersøgelsen:
De overvejede muskelsygdomme omfatter:
- Lembælte muskeldystrofi
- Myopati
- Inklusionskropsmyopati
- FSH (Facioscapular muskeldystrofi) uden mutationen
- Scapuloperoneal muskeldystrofi
- Amyotrofisk lateral sklerose
- Ikke-specifik muskeldystrofi
OG
Knoglelidelser, herunder:
- Pagets knoglesygdom
- Fibrøs dysplasi
- Diaphyseal medullær stenose med malignt fibrøst histiocytom (DMS-MFH)
- Ikke-specifik knoglesygdom
Kvalificerede deltagere skal også være:
- Emner skal være 18 år eller ældre
- Forsøgspersoner skal kunne give samtykke
- Voksne familiemedlemmer eller ægtefæller over 18 år af de berørte personer
Ekskluderingskriterier:
- Under 18 år.
Personer, der rapporterer en anden, ikke-relateret diagnose, vil blive udelukket fra undersøgelsen. Testning for at bekræfte forskellige diagnoser vil ikke blive udført, i stedet vil patienten blive spurgt om disse oplysninger, og der vil blive indhentet journaler til bekræftelse af passende test.
De, der ikke selv er i stand til at give samtykke, vil blive udelukket fra at deltage i undersøgelsen.
