Karakterisering van inclusielichaammyopathie geassocieerd met de botziekte van Paget en frontotemporale dementie (IBMPFD)
Karakterisering van familiale myopathie en botziekte van Paget
De onderzoekers onderzoeken families met erfelijke inclusielichaammyopathie (IBM) en/of de botziekte van Paget (PDB) en/of dementie (FTD), ook wel IBMPFD genoemd. IBMPFD wordt veroorzaakt door mutaties in het VCP-gen. Ons belangrijkste doel is om te begrijpen hoe veranderingen in het VCP-gen de spier-, bot- en cognitieve problemen veroorzaken die met de ziekte samenhangen.
De onderzoekers verzamelen biologische monsters zoals bloed- en urinemonsters, familie- en medische geschiedenissen, vragenlijstgegevens van patiënten met een persoonlijke of familiegeschiedenis van VCP-geassocieerde ziekte. Deelnemers hoeven niet alle bovenstaande symptomen te hebben om in aanmerking te komen. Een selecte groep deelnemers kan worden uitgenodigd om naar de University of California, Irvine te reizen voor een tweedaags programma met lokale procedures, zoals een MRI en botscan.
Monsters zijn gecodeerd om de vertrouwelijkheid te waarborgen. Reizen is niet nodig, behalve voor gezinnen die zijn uitgenodigd voor aanvullende tests.

Beschrijving
Inclusiecriteria:
- Inclusiecriteria omvatten alle personen met een combinatie van medische problemen, waaronder spier- en botziekte en hun familieleden. Omdat historisch VCP-gerelateerde spierziekte ten onrechte is gediagnosticeerd met de volgende diagnoses, zullen deze patiënten, als ze ook een persoonlijke of familiegeschiedenis van botziekte hebben, in aanmerking komen voor het onderzoek:
Spieraandoeningen die worden overwogen, zijn onder meer:
- Ledematen Gordel Spierdystrofie
- Myopathie
- Inclusielichaammyopathie
- FSH (Facioscapulaire spierdystrofie) zonder de mutatie
- Scapuloperoneale spierdystrofie
- Amyotrofische laterale sclerose
- Niet-specifieke spierdystrofie
EN
Botaandoeningen waaronder:
- Botziekte van Paget
- Vezelige dysplasie
- Diafysaire medullaire stenose met maligne fibreus histiocytoom (DMS-MFH)
- Niet-specifieke botziekte
In aanmerking komende deelnemers moeten ook zijn:
- Onderwerpen moeten 18 jaar of ouder zijn
- Proefpersonen moeten toestemming kunnen geven
- Volwassen familieleden of echtgenoten ouder dan 18 jaar van de getroffen personen
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Onder de 18 jaar.
Personen die een andere, niet-gerelateerde diagnose melden, worden uitgesloten van het onderzoek. Testen om verschillende diagnoses te bevestigen zullen niet worden uitgevoerd, in plaats daarvan zal de patiënt worden ondervraagd voor deze informatie en zullen er verslagen worden verkregen voor bevestiging van de juiste testen.
Degenen die zelf geen toestemming kunnen geven, worden uitgesloten van deelname aan het onderzoek.
