Critère d'intégration:
Une pression artérielle diastolique (PAD) moyenne en position assise > 85 mmHg et une pression artérielle systolique (PAS) à domicile < 180 mmHg. Les sujets doivent également avoir une DBP clinique moyenne assise (> 5 minutes) entre 90 mmHg et 110 mmHg et une PAS <180 mmHg
Critère d'exclusion:
formes secondaires d'HTN, patients actuellement traités par trois antihypertenseurs ou plus, HTN systolique isolée, autres maladies nécessitant un traitement par des médicaments antihypertenseurs, fréquence cardiaque < 55 battements/min, maladie cardiovasculaire connue (y compris antécédent d'angine de poitrine, insuffisance cardiaque, présence d'un stimulateur cardiaque, antécédents d'infarctus du myocarde ou de procédure de revascularisation, ou maladie cérébrovasculaire, y compris accident vasculaire cérébral et AIT), diabète sucré (type 1 ou 2), insuffisance rénale (créatinine sérique > 1,5 chez l'homme ou 1,4 chez la femme), maladie rénale primaire , grossesse ou allaitement, enzymes hépatiques > 2,5 limites supérieures de la normale, traitement en cours par AINS, inhibiteurs de la cyclooxygénase-2 (COX2), contraceptifs oraux ou œstrogènes.
