カナダ保健情報研究所は最近、2016 年にカナダの高齢者の 26.5% が 10 種類以上の薬を処方されたと報告しました。
私たちのチームのメンバー(S.
Dahrouge) は、処方箋の数が、65 歳以上の患者における永続的な複雑さと高コストの最も信頼できる指標であることが判明したことを発見しました。
また、処方箋の数と潜在的に不適切な処方箋 (PIP) との間にも関連性があります。
トロント大学の実践ベースの研究ネットワーク (UTOPIAN) に所属する 86 の診療所で行われた分析では、かかりつけの医師は、毎年 10 種類以上の薬を処方された平均 24 人の高齢患者の世話をしていることがわかりました。
