INTREPiD는 고감도 신속 진단 테스트(HS-RDT)를 사용하여 P. falciparum 기생충에 대한 임신 1기 스크리닝 전략의 2군, 공개 라벨, 병렬 할당 무작위 시험입니다. 참가자는 케냐와 콩고민주공화국의 P. falciparum 말라리아 발병 지역에서 임신 초기에 산전 클리닉에 참석하는 모든 중력의 여성입니다.
동의 및 등록 후 여성은 일반적인 산전 관리 또는 개입에 1:1로 할당됩니다. 중재는 HS-RDT로 산모 말초 혈액에서 P. falciparum 감염에 대한 임신 초기 단일 스크리닝이 될 것입니다. HS-RDT 검사에서 P. falciparum에 양성 반응을 보인 여성은 Artemether-Lumefantrine(AL)의 단일 과정으로 치료를 받은 다음 일반적인 산전 관리로 돌아갑니다.
참가자는 분만 후 자손의 생후 첫 달까지 추적됩니다.
가설은 일반적인 산전 관리와 비교하여 임신 초기 여성을 P. falciparum에 대해 선별하고 AL 양성인 경우 치료하면 불리한 임신 결과의 위험을 줄일 수 있다는 것입니다.

제외 기준:
- 지역 가이드라인에 따라 전문적인 치료를 위한 의뢰가 필요한 고위험 임신
- 보다 높은 수준의 치료를 요하는 선별검사 시 활성 의학적 문제
- 스크리닝 전 2주 동안 말라리아 예방약 수령
- Artemether 또는 Lumefantrine에 대한 과거 알레르기 또는 약물 복용을 금지하는 다른 상태
- 현재 다른 임상 연구에 참여 중
