Dutch biotechnology company conducts clinical trial of the Evoke Closed-Loop SCS System to treat patients with chronic pain of the Trunk and/or Limbs

The company Saluda Medical Pty Ltd is commencing recruitment for the clinical trial of the Long-term Effectiveness, Safety, and Performance of the Evoke Closed-Loop SCS System to Treat Patients With Chronic Pain of the Trunk and/or Limbs.

The objective of this multicountry study is to evaluate the long-term clinical effectiveness, safety, and performance of the Evoke System in the treatment of chronic pain of the trunk and/or limbs in a real-world population.

The condition is Chronic Pain.

Percent Change in Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) Pain is the primary outcome measure.

The trial officially began on the August 5, 2020 and is planned to complete on October 1, 2027.

A new clinical trial is recruiting patients in the following locations: Netherlands.

The patients that can be enrolled into this study include the population with chronic trunk and/or limb pain.

Chronic pain is pain that lasts a long time. In medicine, the distinction between acute and chronic pain is sometimes determined by the amount of time since onset.

Chronic pain may originate in the body, or in the brain or spinal cord. It is often difficult to treat. Epidemiological studies have found that 8% - 11.2% of people in various countries have chronic widespread pain.
