A kutatók olyan felnőtteket vizsgálnak, akik elektív hasi műtéten esnek át, és akiknél a posztoperatív tüdőszövődmények kockázata legalább mérsékelt.
A résztvevőket a mellkasukon és a combjukon figyelik olyan eszközökkel, amelyek rögzítik a légzési mintát (légzési mennyiséget és gyakoriságot), valamint testhelyzetüket és mozgásukat. Ezeket a monitorokat a bőrükre helyezik a Post-Anesthesia Care Unitban (PACU), és három napig maradnak bekapcsolva, vagy amíg a beteg szabadon mozogni nem tud, vagy amíg a kórházból ki nem bocsátják, attól függően, hogy melyik következik be korábban. A kutatók elemezni fogják az összefüggést a különféle tevékenységek (például ülés, séta) gyakorisága, időtartama és intenzitása, valamint a légzés és más klinikai szövődmények között, a kapott gyógyszerekkel és más kórházi eseményekkel kombinálva.

- 18 éves vagy idősebbnek kell lennie
- Hasi műtéten kell átesni
- Magas kockázatúnak kell lennie a PPC-k esetében (26 vagy annál nagyobb ARISCAT-pontszám)
Kizárási kritériumok:
- Bárki 18 éven aluli
- Aki nem esik át hasi műtéten
- Bárki, aki nem magas kockázatú a PPC-k miatt (ARISCAT pontszám kevesebb, mint 26)

Posztoperatív monitorozás
Az ActivPAL gyorsulásmérőt a mellkasra és a combra, ExSpiron monitort a mellkasra helyeznek, és a pácienst három napig megfigyelik, egészen ambuláns állapotba (30 métert tud sétálni segítség nélkül, vagy anélkül), vagy a kibocsátásig. ; amelyik előbb jön.
