Synergi mellem PCI med TAXUS og hjertekirurgi: SYNTAX forlænget overlevelse (SYNTAXES)

En investigator-drevet, retrospektiv undersøgelse for at sammenligne langsigtede overlevelsesdata (10-års opfølgning) af patienter med koronararteriesygdom (CAD), tidligere indskrevet i SYNTAX-studiet, og som blev randomiseret til perkutan koronar intervention (PCI) ved brug af en paclitaxel (TAXUS) lægemiddel-eluerende stent (DES) eller koronararterie bypass grafting (CABG).

Studiebefolkning
Patienter indskrevet i SYNTAX-studiet og registre skulle diagnosticeres med tre-kar (3VD) eller venstre hoved (LM) koronararteriesygdom.
De kar (diameter ≥1,5 mm og signifikant stenose > 50%), der blev anset for vigtige for revaskularisering, blev bestemt af hjerteteamet før randomisering.
Gruppen af 3VD består af patienter med signifikant stenose i kar, der forsyner alle tre store epikardieterritorier i fravær af LM-sygdom, som bestemt af stedets efterforskere.
Gruppen af patienter med LM-sygdom består af patienter med signifikant stenose i venstre hovedkranspulsåre, uanset yderligere karsygdom.
