詳細な説明
現時点では、RTT、MECP2 Dup、または Rett 関連障害に対する効果的な治療法はありません。
過去 11 年間に RTT で大幅な進歩が見られたため、この研究では MECP2 遺伝子の変異または重複、および表現型の重複を含む関連疾患に焦点が絞られています。
RTT の理解は、Rett Syndrome Natural History Clinical Protocol (NHS) を通じて著しく進歩し、それに対応して基礎科学領域の進歩も同様の成功を収めています。
このように、臨床科学と基礎科学の進歩により、臨床試験やその他のトランスレーショナル スタディが確立され、将来の追加の臨床試験が期待されています。
しかし、その過程で、最初の提案の時点では知られていない追加の MECP2 および RTT 関連の障害が特定されました。
さらに、突然変異の違いだけでは説明できないRTT患者の実質的な臨床的変動をさらに調査する必要があります。

さらに、CDKL5 および FOXG1 の変異による RTT との表現型の重複も未調査でした。
