다음 기준 중 하나가 존재하는 외상 환자:
병원 도착 시 다음 매개변수 중 하나 이상:
- 호흡수 ≥30/min 또는 ≤10/min
- 펄스 ≥120/분;
- 수축기 혈압 ≤100mmHg
- 예상 외부 실혈량 ≥500ml
- 글래스고 혼수 점수 ≤13
- 비정상적인 동공 빛 반사.
또는 다음 진단 중 하나에 대한 임상적 의심:
- 최소 2개의 장골 골절
- 다발성 갈비뼈 골절, 도리깨 가슴 또는 열린 가슴
- 심한 복부 부상
- 골반 골절
- 불안정한 척추 골절 또는 척수 손상의 징후.
또는 다음 부상 메커니즘 중 하나:
- 높이에서 떨어짐(≥ 10피트)
- 차량에서 배출
- 동일 차량 탑승자 사망
- 같은 차량에서 중상을 입은 환자
- 쐐기형 또는 갇힌 가슴/복부.
제외 기준:
- 연령 <18세(알려진 경우)
- 알려진 임신
- 다른 병원에서 의뢰받은 환자
- 둔기 손상 메커니즘이 있는 명백히 저에너지 외상
- 명확하게 고립된 손상으로 신체 1부위의 관통상(총상 제외)
- CT촬영을 하기에는 불안정하다고 판단되어 사망이 임박하여 (심폐)소생술 또는 즉각적인 수술이 필요한 환자.

개입 그룹을 위한 CT 프로토콜은 몸 옆에 팔이 있는 두경부 비강화 CT(NECT)로 시작하는 2단계 전신 획득(꼭지점에서 치골결합까지)으로 구성됩니다. 두 번째 보완 스캔에 선호되는 기술은 팔을 머리 옆으로 재배치한 직후 분할-볼러스 정맥 조영제이며, 이 두 번째 스캔은 흉부, 복부 및 골반을 덮습니다. 그러나 참여 센터는 TBCT의 가슴과 복부 부분에 대해 정맥 조영제가 제공되는 한 자체 기술을 자유롭게 선택할 수 있습니다.
