Inklusionskriterier:
- i alderen 18,0 - 23,9 måneder
- uden alvorlige sygdomme
- moderen fødte børnene mellem 18-40 år
- har Sasak etnicitet, (5) liggende længde <-2SD (for forkrøblet gruppe) og >-1SD (for ikke-forkrøblede gruppe) fra WHO's Child Growth Standards median for deres alder og køn ved rekrutteringen.

Epigenetik-signatur relateret til stunting

Analyse af epigenetiske tilstande (DNA-methylering) vil blive udført ved hjælp af Illumina Infinium Methylation EPIC V.2.0 BeadChip, forstærket med sekventeringsmetoder for at give både genom-dækning og højopløsningsanalyse.
Epigenetisk tilstand kontrollerer genekspression og overordnet genomregulering i stor skala, og undersøgelsen vil fokusere på kandidat epigenetiske tilstande, der er impliceret i stunting og dets følger sammen med epigenom bred association.

Kognitiv udvikling vil blive vurderet ved hjælp af den fulde Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (BSID-4) af uddannede psykologer. BSID-4 består af: Kognitiv skala (COG); Sprogskala (LANG) og Motorisk skala (MOT). Udvalget af Standard Score (SS) på hver skala er 40-160, hvor højere score betyder bedre. |
