Gedetailleerde beschrijving

Het doel van deze studie was om de werkzaamheid en veiligheid van AndroGel (testosterongel) 1% te evalueren na toediening aan thuiswonende mannen met hypogonadisme. Het primaire eindpunt was de procentuele verandering vanaf baseline tot maand 6 in de beoordeling van de symptomen van oudere mannen (AMS). Secundaire eindpunten waren veranderingen vanaf baseline tot maand 6 in beoordelingen van de International Index of Erectile Dysfunction (IIEF), Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) en body mass index (BMI).

Totaalscores variëren van 17 (minimum) tot 85 (maximum). De AMS-totaalscore werd gerapporteerd bij baseline en in maand 6 en vertegenwoordigde de som van alle items. De procentuele verandering ten opzichte van baseline werd berekend als de [(AMS-waarde op maand 6 - AMS-waarde op baseline)/baselinewaarde] x 100.	Basislijn tot maand 6

De scores varieerden van 0 tot 5 op elk item, waarbij een lagere score een grotere disfunctie aangeeft. Procentuele verandering van baseline tot maand 6 in de Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) Total Score Tijdsspanne: Basislijn tot maand 6	De MFI is een zelfgerapporteerd instrument met 20 items dat is ontworpen om vermoeidheid te meten. Vijf schalen meten verschillende vormen van vermoeidheid: algemene vermoeidheid (4 items), fysieke vermoeidheid (4 items), mentale vermoeidheid (4 items), verminderde motivatie (4 items) en verminderde activiteit (4 items). De scores voor elk item variëren van 1 tot 5. Elke subschaal omvat 4 items met 5-punts Likertschalen en subschaalscores variëren van 4 tot 20, waarbij een hogere score duidt op meer vermoeidheid.
