Longitudinell vurdering av økonomisk byrde hos pasienter med tykktarms- eller endetarmskreft behandlet med kurativ hensikt

Denne forskningsstudien studerer den økonomiske byrden hos pasienter med stadium I-III tykktarms- eller rektalkreft som er under behandling. Innsamling av data fra pasienter om deres kostnader og livskvalitet kan hjelpe leger til å bedre forstå effekten av kreftbehandling på en pasients sysselsetting og økonomi.

I. Evaluer endringen i nivå av selvrapportert økonomisk byrde fra baseline (innen 60 dager etter diagnose) til 12 måneder etter diagnose av tykktarms- eller rektalkreft behandlet med kurativ hensikt.

SEKUNDÆRE MÅL:

I. Evaluer rapportert tilgang og bruk av finansielle tjenester (dvs. finansrådgiver, navigatør, sosialarbeidere) og dets tilknytning til økonomisk byrde i de første 12 månedene etter diagnose av tykktarms- eller endetarmskreft behandlet med kurativ hensikt.

II. Evaluer endringen i nivå av selvrapportert økonomisk byrde og sysselsettingsbegrensninger fra baseline (innen 60 dager etter diagnose) til 3, 6 og 12 måneder etter diagnose av tykktarms- eller endetarmskreft behandlet med kurativ hensikt.

Studiepopulasjon

Pasienter fra en gastroenterologi, kirurgisk onkologi, strålingsonkologi eller medisinsk onkologisk klinikk med nylig diagnostisert tykktarms- eller rektalkreft er potensielle kandidater for studien. Forsøkspersonene må melde seg på innen 60 dager etter deres diagnostiske biopsi eller kurativ operasjon og før kjemoterapi og/eller stråling

Beskrivelse

Inklusjonskriterier:

Pasienter må ha en forventet levealder på >= 24 måneder
Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) ytelsesstatus (PS) 0-3
Pasienter må ha en nylig diagnostisert tykktarms- eller endetarmskreft (første diagnose, enten en biopsi eller kurativ kirurgi, avhengig av hva som er siste) innen 60 dager etter registrering og har ennå ikke mottatt stråling eller kjemoterapi
Pasienter må ha stadium I, II eller III sykdom på tidspunktet for registrering og vil bli behandlet med kurativ hensikt; dette kan defineres enten klinisk eller patologisk hvis de allerede har gjennomgått operasjon; for stadieinndeling av både tykktarms- og endetarmskreft, er definisjonen av stadium I-III basert på den syvende utgaven (2010) eller en oppdatert versjon av svulst, node, metastase (TNM) stadiesystem
Pasienter er ikke kvalifisert hvis de allerede er registrert på en klinisk behandlingsstudie på registreringstidspunktet; de kan forbli i studien hvis de deretter melder seg på en klinisk behandlingsstudie i løpet av studieperioden
Pasienter som velger å ikke motta stråling og/eller kjemoterapi etter en kurativ operasjon er kvalifisert til å delta
Pasienter med tidligere malignitet (unntatt ikke-melanom hud eller livmorhalskreft) behandlet (med enten kirurgi, kjemoterapi og/eller stråling) i løpet av de siste 3 årene er ikke kvalifisert

Vil bli vurdert av Consumer Based Cancer Care Value Index (CCVI). For den kontinuerlige elementvariabelen vil den utføre den parede t-testen for å undersøke forskjellen om fordelingen er normal. Hvis den ikke er normalfordelt, vil Wilcoxon signert rangtest bli brukt. For den kategoriske elementvariabelen vil den parede proporsjonstesten (f.eks. McNemar-testen) brukes i stedet.
