Effectiviteit van Ottobock-helmtherapie bij zuigelingen met plagiocefalie, brachycefalie of een combinatie van beide en tevredenheid van ouders
Het doel van het onderzoek is het meten van de effectiviteit van de Ottobock-helm, een innovatieve 3D-geprinte schedelorthese die wordt gebruikt om deformatie van de schedelpositie van baby's te corrigeren: plagiocefalie, brachycefalie of een combinatie van beide.
Dit onderzoek is een retrospectieve multicentrische studie die bestaat uit een verzameling klinische gegevens uit de database van orthesen en een enquête onder de ouders van patiënten.

De Ottobock-helm is een schedelorthese die wordt gebruikt voor het corrigeren van craniale positionele vervormingen bij kinderen: plagiocefalie, brachycefalie of een combinatie van beide. Dit medisch hulpmiddel is een 3D-geprinte helm, met een elastisch sluitsysteem dat het hoofd laat groeien, een constante druk in de helm houdt en zorgt voor een goede afstelling.
Hoewel er een effectiviteit is waargenomen, zijn er tot nu toe geen bestaande klinische bewijzen voor dit type helm en is er behoefte aan onderzoek bij een groot aantal patiënten om de effectiviteit te meten en de behandelde populatie te beschrijven. Deze studie zal gezondheidswerkers (artsen, orthopedisch technici, enz.) en gezondheidsautoriteiten meer informatie geven over de voordelen van de orthopedische behandeling van positionele schedeldeformaties bij zuigelingen.
Het onderzoek bestaat uit een elektronisch casusrapportformulier (eCRF) dat moet worden ingevuld door de instrumentmakers en een elektronische vragenlijst (ePRO) die moet worden ingevuld door de ouders van de patiënt. De elektronische vragenlijsten, dataverwerking en analyse worden uitgevoerd door een Contractonderzoeksorganisatie (CRO).

Inclusiecriteria:
- Zuigeling met positionele schedelvervorming
- Baby behandeld met een Ottobock-helm tussen 1 mei 2020 en 1 mei 2021
Uitsluitingscriteria:
- Patiënt van wie de ouders (of wettelijke voogden) het niet eens zijn met deelname aan het onderzoek.
- Patiënt van wie de ouders (of wettelijke voogden) de vragenlijst niet kunnen begrijpen of beantwoorden.
