恶性胸腔积液 (MPE) 的发展可能是任何癌症转移扩散的结果,但最常见的是肺癌、乳腺癌和妇科癌症或原发性胸膜肿瘤(例如间皮瘤)。 MPE 的存在代表无法治愈的疾病,中位生存期为首次出现后 3 至 12 个月。 呼吸困难是该患者群体报告的一种常见且使人衰弱的症状,干预措施旨在控制症状以获得最佳生活质量。

对 MPE 患者的初步研究表明,患者的活动水平非常低。 MPE 的参与者有超过 70% 的醒着时间是久坐不动的(即能量消耗非常低的活动,坐着或躺着)。 那些体能状态最好、生存期最长的 MPE 患者比体能状态差、生存期有限的患者更活跃、久坐更少。 然而,这些初步结果需要复制。 此外,尚不清楚活动行为是否与该患者群体的生活质量或呼吸困难等症状相关。 来自其他癌症幸存者人群的证据表明,活动行为与生活质量和症状有关。 在患有乳腺癌、结直肠癌、肺癌和卵巢癌的患者中,身体活动越多的患者生活质量越好。 在肺癌患者中,呼吸困难和疲劳等症状似乎与体力活动水平较低有关。

描述
纳入标准:
- 患有 MPE 的患者(即在胸水或胸膜活检中发现恶性细胞的患者);或已知播散性胸外恶性肿瘤患者无其他原因的大量渗出性胸腔积液
排除标准:
- 年龄<18岁的患者;胸膜感染;怀孕或哺乳;无法同意或遵守协议;预期在招募后一周内进行胸腔引流手术。
