1990년에서 1991년 사이에 걸프전에서 복무한 걸프전 질병이 있거나 없는 재향군인을 대상으로 뇌 혈류 조절 및 자율신경 기능 장애를 측정합니다.
연구 개요
상세 설명
걸프 전쟁 질병(GWI)은 원인이 알려지지 않은 다중 증상 질병입니다. GWI는 걸프전 참전용사 장애의 주요 원인입니다. 인지 불만은 GWI의 일반적인 증상이며, 이는 뇌가 이 상태의 발달에 관여하고 있음을 시사합니다. 퇴역 군인의 나이가 들면 이러한 인지 장애가 악화되고 노화 과정에 의해 악화될 수 있습니다. GWI는 "가속된" 뇌 노화의 상태일 수 있습니다. 따라서 GWI의 장기적인 결과가 있을 수 있으며 GWI의 존재는 알츠하이머병(AD) 또는 기타 치매 발병 위험을 증가시킬 수 있습니다. 뇌졸중과 같은 다른 뇌 관련 질병과 비교할 때 GWI에 대해 알려진 바가 상대적으로 적고 이 상태가 뇌의 정상적인 연령 관련 변화에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알 수 있습니다.

- 퇴역 군인의 뇌 혈류 및 자율 신경계 변수가 인지 저하와 관련된 뇌 노화의 다른 지표와 관련이 있는지 확인합니다.

설명
포함 기준:
- 1990~1991년 페르시아만에 배치
- 체질량 <300lbs
- CMI/CDC 및 Kansas 정의에 근거한 걸프전 질병 진단 또는 걸프전 질병 진단 없음
제외 기준:
- 현재 또는 평생 증거: 제2형 당뇨병, 신경계 질환, 암 치료, 류마티스 관절염, 루푸스, 양극성 장애, 정신병적 장애 또는 정신병적 특징이 있는 기분 장애
- 현재 불법 약물 사용 또는 1년 미만의 부분 완화
- 여러 진정제 또는 항경련제 복용
- 현재 임신 중
- 운동 테스트에 대한 절대 금기 사항
- MRI에 대한 금기 사항
- 조사자의 재량에 따른 기타 중요한 의학적 상태
